Before You Contact Me . .
.
. . .
please note: I
do my best to answer readers' questions. Please understand that
I receive about 400 e-mails
each day. If I tried to answer them all as
completely as I'd like, I'd never get any work done. Having
said that, many of the articles that appear on this site and all
over the Web are articles that were inspired by my readers
questions--questions that weren't answered in any of my books
for writers (see the home page for an
overview of what those books are). They certainly answer
the questions I get asked most frequently and they come with
complete indexes so you can easily find information by subject.
So when I hear from from my readers, I benefit, but I also hope
they will read my books first, do their homework, and--once
done--ask away! If there's something you want me to help
you with that you can't find an answer to elsewhere, please feel
free to contact me. If it's important and you haven't heard
back from me in a week, give me a little nudge. I try to answer
every e-mail but occasionally something does get dropped or
relegated to the SPAM file.
Newsletter
Endorsement:
"I look forward to [Sharing
with Writers] newsletter that gives a good dose of publicity/promotion
information. In addition to using information for my own books, I also
pull info now and then to share with my students in my magazine editing
and book publishing courses. There are a lot of newsletters on a lot of
topics. Carolyn's is one of those that matters." ~

Book Proposal
Help
Former book
acquisitions editor Terry Whalin says, "editors and publishers
don't read manuscripts. They read book proposals. In
Book
Proposals That Sell: 21 Secrets to Speed Your Success, you
learn the inside scoop to achieve your dreams." I highly
recommend it.

Promotion Services
You'll find
direction in the Frugal Book Promoter for building your own media
kit; if you choose not to build your own, the information there will
make you a better partner for a publicist you might hire to help you. I
recommend PressKit 24/7, the brainchild of publicists with over forty
years' experience. We know the speed at which you need to work, and we
know what it takes to get the media's attention. It was critical for us
to be able to create professional online press kits for our own clients.
So we understand what you need for yours.
